Irvine, Calif. (October 26, 2018) – To help support the execution of his strategic business and product plan, Karma Automotive CEO Dr. Lance Zhou today announced organizational changes to his leadership team.

“My organizational changes will help ensure Karma Automotive has positioned the right people in the right places to support our strong and well-funded future,” Zhou said. “Karma is being led by the kinds of people and teams we need to achieve our goals and execute on a solid product plan that spans the next decade.”

Effective immediately, a new Office of the CEO will be led by Co-Chiefs of Staff, John Wilson, and Mikael Elley. Functions reporting to the Office of the CEO include Business Development, Strategy, IT, Enterprise Program Management, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance and Audit, and Intellectual Property.

Supporting the recently announced Road to Success Karma Business Plan, two other changes will directly contribute to the company’s strategic direction. Bob Kruse will now report directly to the CEO in his role as Chief Technology Officer, and Barny Koehler will assume responsibility for customization activities as part of his new role as Chief Innovation Officer, in charge of global design and user interface; he also will continue to serve as President, China.

Zhou also announced Jim Taylor, Karma’s Chief Revenue Officer responsible for all sales and marketing activities, has decided to pursue new business opportunities in Detroit and will leave the company Nov. 30. Karma’s sales, marketing and communications teams will report directly to Zhou until a replacement is named.

“Jim’s vision and passion have played a crucial role in shaping Karma’s unique luxury electric vehicle niche,” Zhou said. “We admire his hard work and dedication and appreciate all that he and his team have done to help evolve the Karma brand. The entire Karma family wishes him well in his future endeavors.”
